Third quilt Quilted

I am going to claim my Granddaughter's first quilt is my 3rd quilt quilted for the year and it looks like this year I am not going to make my goal of quilting nine quilts.  There is always next year.

It has been Since March

It has been such a long time since I posted on my blog. I have been so very busy babysitting my Granddaughters ages 18 months and 4. But during this time I have been teaching my 4 year old how to quilt. I am posting this picture of her with the quilt and the pillow to match.  I was right there with her with my foot on the foot pedal and my hands guiding hers.  Together I think we did a pretty good job. She joins me for a couple of hours with my friends on the first Saturday of each month.  Whether or not she sticks with quilting is up to her.  But I hope I have given her a good start. Here is the picture. I am thinking about another project for January.

Cloudy Day

Cloudy day here which makes me want to sew. The storms went around us with very little rain here.  I am working on the Farm girl Vintage quilt.  Three of us chose to do the six inch blocks and boy some of the pieces are really tiny. I am up to the Milking Day block now.  I still have a long way to go though.  I am doing mine in scraps and not the 30's reproduction fabric.  I must say this is taking a while for me to do.  I will cut about three blocks, sew those up and then cut three more to work on.  I am trying to stay with it til I get done.  One of my goals was not to start anymore new projects and as you can tell I fell off the wagon.   I need to get another quilt top quilted and will probably do that when I get the top done on the Farm Girl Vintage.  So it's back to work on the Farm Girl Vintage.  I just needed a break from it, so until next time or rather my next break.

I forgot to mention in the post below that the Easter Bunny quilt I posted below is my 2nd quilt quilted for 2017.  Seven more to go before the end of the year.

My Challenges

My next retreat is in August and I have the fabric challenge done.  Sometimes I have waited til the last month to get the challenge done.  But this time I got it done right after the retreat in February. The challenge in August is the red fabric and we had to do an Easter theme.  I chose to do raw edge applique as shown below.  Also I am doing some string piecing today and cutting some diamonds for a crafty class.

One Down

My bright stars quilt is 1 out of nine to be quilted this year.  So this means 8 more to finish my yearly goal

Fabric Challenge Quilt

My semiannual fabric challenge quilt is done.I had it almost done for a retreat the beginning of this month.  However I did finish it when I got home.  My bright stars quilt was scraps I had left from another quilt I did.  I did the binding also in scraps.  And would you believe using these scraps did not make a dent.  So I guess I can make use of them later.
