New Year's Eve

Yesterday Gracie put stickers (from the movie Frozen) all over my face. when Papa came and Daddy woke up, they could see her art work. She would laugh and tell me I was silly. Abby would just stare at my face, wondering what was going on. Just one of the fun times I have with my girls. Life is precious when I play with my Granddaughters. Too bad I don't have a picture. My plans for 2017 will be to enjoy my girls to the fullest as time goes by so fast.  Gracie is now 3 and Abby is now 7 months.

This next year I plan to get 9 quilts quilted increasing last years goal by 2.   I want to work on UFO's and trying not to work on so many new projects. I would also like to start Christmas gifts early so as not to rush at the last minute.  I know this sounds like a lot of (I would likes), but i found that writing things down for my goals helped me last year.  Perhaps it will work for me again in 2017. Probably the one thing I won't give up is buying fabric.  Like most of us quilters I have a lot and I must say I am a collector of fabric. All in all I plan to enjoy my quilting and my collection of fabric.  But the most important thing to me is my family and my girls (the Granddaughters). Love them all to the moon and back.

So til the next time I post have a Happy Year and enjoy life to the fullest.

Reached My Goal

Shown here are my latest baby quilts I finished and have given away.  This means I have reached my goal of finishing seven quilts during 2016.  The blue one had a binding, but I gave it away today without getting a picture. That's OK as I am doing a happy dance of reaching my goal. This means I did two more quilts than I did in 2015. I enjoyed doing all of them.

Guild 2016 Retreat

I am having fun at my local Guild Retreat with 17 ladies.  A lot of chatting and laughing is going on which is all part of the retreat fun.  And oh, did I mention a lot of food  snacks being eaten.  We all worked on the "Fold'n Stitch Wreath" today.  Then there will be tomorrow with more fun and more pictures.

Baby Quilt

I finally got a baby quilt done and will be sending it in the mail next week. I have a guild quilt retreat this week.  Now I am going to start another baby quilt.  It's been a "baby kind of year" for my quilt making.  This one gets me closer to my goal of 7 quilts for this year as this is the 6th one. I think setting a goal has been good for me as I have accomplished more this past year.

Garlic Knots

I am on the band wagon with Quiltville's Garlic knots  quilt block.  I guess I could say that I am "addicted" to Bonnie's scrap quilts.

Getting Closer

I am getting closer to having my goal of 7 quilts quilted by January 2017.  That means no matter how big or small they are.  So Far I have five completely done. So I have made progress. So I am off to working on more. Got to get 'em' done.

Spinning Table Topper

This spinning table topper is a challenge and it had to be done by Aug 1.  My small group has a retreat then.  About every six months we do a fabric challenge and one member is chosen to bring the challenge fabric from their stash.  We have six members in our small group. I brought the really dark fabric this past March.  We usually bring fat quarters to one half yard.  It is so much fun seeing what the gals come up with to make with the challenge fabric.  The fabric can be pretty or ugly.  In August a designated lady will bring fabric for all of us.  We put $5 each in the pot and outsiders during the retreat time will vote on the one they like.  Winner takes the whole pot.  It's just a bunch of fun.

Abigail's Blanket

Tonight I finished a crocheted baby blanket for my 2nd Granddaughter Abigail Leeann. She is due in 1 week and I am happy to get this done.  I know her big sister Gracie is excited to have a little sister. They will be almost 3 years apart.  She calls me GG and I am excited for Abigail to arrive.  I am also working on a quilt for her.

Current 2016 Projects

I have 2 quilts quilted toward my goal of 7 for 2016. The first quilt has a challenge fabric (lighter Blue) for a retreat challenge at Camp Canyon, Hinton, OK.  The second one was a ready made table topper I used as a vintage piece.  I used the rulers for my domestic machine.  Love those rulers.
