Retreat Fabric Challenge Time

The August retreat is coming up pretty quick so I decided I better get busy. The challenge fabric is the small blue flowers.  The pattern is called "Blue on White" and it is found in Fons and Porter's Easy Quilts Summer 2014 issue.  Now that the top is finished, the next step is to quilt it.  I will post again when I finish the quilting phase.  Until then happy quilting.

Time to Clean Sewing Room

I decided to take time to clean the sewing room.  I still need to to organize under the ironing board. You can see Joy my Boxer guarding my current project on the floor.  She would have preferred laying on it, but I would not let her.

A Quilt Done

As I have posted previously I am new to longarm quilting.  Last weekend I rented the longarm at my local quilt shop Beth's.  This quilt is 83 x 83. I am happy to have it done and I hope to get better at the longarm.  I will try to get another quilt top quilted next month ( I have a lot of them to do).  But, in the mean time I will work on UFO's.

I went to a garage sale yesterday and got a real bargain.  Heard about it through word of mouth.  A lady from another State was closing her quilt shop.  I bought 6 different fabrics for $3 a yard (good quality quilt fabric).  I could not resist and knowing I love and collect fabric I bought 4 yards of each. I bought plenty of yardage as I don't know what I will make with it yet.  Here's my bargain:

Well that's about it for now.  I'm off to either work on a UFO  or start something new.  In the mean time I hope all quilter's have fun with their projects.

First Longarm Try

I took a longarm class at my local quilt shop.  I now have a binding on it.  I completed this quilt with my 2 hour practice time for taking the class.  I call this quilt "Santa Fe Logs", I think because of the colors.   Next Saturday I have scheduled time to start quilting another quilt top at Beth's Quilt Shop. Just trying to decided which of my many quilt tops I want to do.
Today I am piecing a quilt called "Apple Harvest". I have also posted a picture of our Princess Gracie who will be 9 months this month.  She is truly the apple of my eye.
