Well, Joy, my boxer will be 6 months old this week. Her name suits her as she is truly a joy. We graduated from our first "college" class and Joy has her diploma. In a couple of weeks we will be enrolled in another class. Mama loves you Joy.
Today I finished another purse while at my Saturday Group that I started with a 3rd Thursday Group. LOL I know, that sentence makes sense to me as I belong to several groups and what I don't finish in one I will finish in another. I have also finished piecing a Christmas table topper that I started in my Tuesday Guild and finished in my Thursday Group in Chickasha. LOL Oh well, it all eventually gets done.
Some of us from our local guild went over to the First Baptist Church in Newcastle and made a reversible purse. They will be making purses once a month for the next three months. Here's how mine turned out.
My husband surprised me with a gift tonight, 9 week old boxer puppy. Her name is Alli. My son has "Shelter Dogs of Oklahoma", so Alli is a rescue puppy. I am so thrilled to have her and I think she is so beautiful.
made a new thread catcher today. I cannot take credit for this, but I will tell you I found it on Bonnie Hunters Quiltville blog. I saw it awhile back and just got around to making it. Thanks Bonnie for sharing this on your blog. It was fast and so easy to make.
Yea!! My butterfly quilt is now completed with the binding. I am a happy camper now. To me, it is always good to get a project done and crossed off of my "UFO Project To Do List" So now I am off to pick out another UFO to work on. I always say I make quilt tops, but, now I am starting to say I make "quilts". Hmm, which UFO should I pick to work on now, the list is long.
As you can see I am making an honest effort in getting some UFO's done. I pinned my Baby Butterfly Quilt and it is now ready for me to machine quilt. Then I plan to quilt my Glory Bound quilt. But, first I want to show it at the NNNQG on Tuesday for show and tell. So I went to my stash of quilt tops and decided it was time to get the butterfly top quilted. Once I get it quilted I will embroider the antennae.
Today I finished piecing a UFO Quilt Top called Glory Bound. I bought the kit several years ago and decided in 2009 to put it together. Well, I learned a lesson here and that is when buying a quilt kit do not wait years to work on it. I ran out of fabric on my last six blocks. So, I dug into my civil war fabric stash and came up with enough fabric to finish the blocks. I am, though, happy with the end result. But I do have other kits that I bought at the same time as Glory Bound. You see, there was a period of time that I bought kits as it was easy not to have pick out the fabric myself. Since then, I am back to picking out the fabric myself. Here's my Glory Bound Quilt Top.
I went to an Air Force Recruiter Retirement yesterday which was held in our Oklahoma State Capitol. While I was there I took a few pictures of the Capitol Building.
It's done and I bet you did not think I would finish. I am a happy Tote Bagger now LOL. Thanks Dandelion Quilts for the pattern and the party. Even though I am late in getting it done, I had fun making my new Spring Tote Bag.
There are some Tote Bag party people that are always behind the power curve and that's me. But I have quilted on the outside of my bag. I am trying to get it done. Remember I am participating the Tote Bag Party from Dandelion Quilts website and doing her Dandy Bag tutorial. Shown here is the outside quilted.
Will continue my Tote Bag Party after church this afternoon. Thanks for all of the comments, it is very encouraging. Everyone has done a great job on theirs and I am just sorry I got such a late start.
Well, I have had interruptions so my progress is not moving very fast. I may have to continue working on it tomorrow. But that is OK. Here's my progress and don't expect too much.
